Beth's Other Collections

I grew up in a family of collectors. Every one had at least one (sometimes more) collections. My sister and I had collections started for us when we were so young that we accepted them as a natural condition of life. My designated collection was salt and pepper shakers. I still have some although I long ago gave up collecting them.

I would like to share my collections with you and explain how I came to start some of them.

When my two sons left for college I had an extra bedroom that I could designate as my space and decorate as I pleased. I bought a bed spread and curtains with a country motif that included apples, bears, cats, flags and hearts in the pattern. On the right is a framed print I made from a wallpaper border with the design. I began to acquire decorative objects for the room that picked up the images in the fabric. The walls are now covered with these objects but two of the categories, apples and bears, have taken on the status of full-fledged collections. It must be something in the genes!

While none of the collectibles displayed on these pages are for sale, I have some duplicates from my collection listed in my online booth, Do you remember this? at GoAntiques cyber mall. Follow this link to see an overview of my inventory on GoAntiques or to purchase items. Thanks for looking.
